Baltic Raku – Obvara

The obvara firing process is a technique originally used to seal the porous surface of low fire pottery  and originated in Eastern Europe during the Middle Ages.

Very similar to Raku, due to the rapidity of the firing process and its surprising effects, it is currently enjoying great success not only in the Baltic Countries (where there is a revival of the technique), but also among all the fans of alternative ceramic firing techniques.

Raku Obvara is being included in the 2021 workshops.
